Unearthing the History of the Scottish Borders: From Rosslyn Chapel to Melrose Abbey

Experience the captivating tales of Scotland’s Borders, a region marked by centuries of historic conflicts between the Scots and English.

Our comprehensive tour brings to life the poignant stories of Melrose Abbey, the final resting place of Robert the Bruce’s heart, the enigmatic Rosslyn Chapel brought to global fame by Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, and the grandeur of Sir Walter Scott’s Abbotsford House.

After a convenient pick-up from your accommodation or cruise ship terminal, we embark on our journey towards the renowned Rosslyn Chapel.

This architectural marvel holds a fascinating history enveloped in mystery and intrigue and was immortalized in Dan Brown’s literary sensation, The Da Vinci Code.

Journeying onwards, we venture towards the Scottish Borders to the stately Abbotsford House, the former home of Sir Walter Scott. This esteemed historical novelist and poet, known for his works such as Rob Roy, Ivanhoe, and Lady of the Lake, resided in this grand manor that now stands as a testament to his status as a classic literary author.

Post lunch, our adventure leads us to the charming Borders town of Melrose. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the evocative ruins of Melrose Abbey, selected by Robert the Bruce as the final resting place for his heart.

Our journey culminates with a drive to Scott’s View, which offers a breathtaking panorama of the Eildon Hills, and the River Tweed – a landscape beloved by Sir Walter Scott.

As we return to your original pick-up point, you’ll carry an enriched understanding of Scottish history and an unforgettable experience of its mesmerizing natural landscapes.
